Work Experience

I now work and teach in my own studio.

Volunteer: Most recently at The Sarasota Opera House, The Sarasota Woman’s Exchange,  Helped  build two houses in New Orleans for Habitat for Humanity.  Worked with Women Brest Cancer Survivors in Orlando creating chairs for their fund raising auction for Susan G Komen . The Power of the Purse, a philanthropic organization working to giving women legal representation who can not afford it .  Holy Angels Orphanage in Uganda, created a stained glass window to go the above the front door of the Orphanage . Raising awareness of the needs of an entire village, through St. Margaret Mary’s in Winter Park.

Museum Shop Manager and Art Teacher

Negotiated monthly and yearly budgets, developed product lines with the use of Andre Smith’s art work, ordered new product and maintained inventory.  Generated a consignment program with a contract and monthly review board for consignment entries to the Museum Shop.  This program allowed MAC to bring in local original works of art and fine crafts to make the shop a unique place to shop.  Also serve as the front line of communication with the public by maintaining telephones and information as well as historical facts regarding the center, property and exhibits.

Patient Care Representative, Patient Care Coordinator for the Sigvard T. Hansen Foot & Ankle Institute

Referral Coordinator for Dr.’s S.Hansen, S.Benirschke and B.Sangeorzan; Accept and process internal and external referrals from around the world for these Orthopedic Surgeons, gather all pertinent medical, demographic and insurance information on the patient.  Entered information into computerized hospital referral system then send the hard copy notes and x-rays to the surgeons once a week for their review. If appropriate, then set up an appointment with the patient, enter it in the system and send out an information packet with confirmation letter for appointments. Then follow through with appointments till the end of surgery and  treatment plan.

Front desk Customer Services, check in patients, schedule appointments, transcribe physician orders, answer phones, print O.R. Schedules, order the patient charts, filed and kept track of incoming and outgoing surgery  information packets, process billing, kept family members updated on patient progress through surgery and ordered medical supplies for the clinic.

Managed the daily business of a small industrial plant. Duties included: liaison between the engineers, production floor, and outside planners and customers.  Entering engineering drawings, work orders and revision changes into data base. Tracked inventory excesses and shortages, maintained and issue status reports for planers.  Monitored quality assurance approvals.  Tracked shipping and  invoicing, ordered production and shipping supplies. Administered payroll and healthcare programs.

Owner/Manager            

Established and successfully managed two small businesses as sole proprietor and in partnership.  Procured stained glass materials and supplies, hired staff, negotiated legal agreements, kept financial records and organized advertising campaigns.  Taught classes, and produced custom stained glass orders. Also, sponsored monthly shows for a variety of artists in my exhibition space.

Taught in a special grade school within the Psychology Department.  Designed and developed an art program for K-8 grade for high IQ, normal, and special needs children.  Conducted meeting with parents, wrote special reports, successfully promoted teaching programs to ensure adequate annual funding.

Co-founder of a 200 + member creative arts advocacy association.  Successfully lobbied government and political leaders for funding to support local arts projects and grants for qualified individuals. Also generated a newsletter for the English language arts community.

Painting, drawing, teaching . Participating in local and international art shows,  precious metal smith, welding, gardening and giving time to local charities annually. I collect Haida/ Inunit Art
